eight color display provides a view of operating status on a lighted graphic identical to burner system features. The pre-wired, factory tested wiring harness and the Total Access Panel door allow for remote location of the Director display. Director® Plus

The PLC based Director®  Plus Graphic Systems combined with the standard Director® graphic system to add first out annunciation for High Limit, Low Water, Air Flow Failure, Pilot and Main Flame Failure High and Low gas pressure Failures, The failure indication are highlighted by a flashing lights sequence to show the order of the failures. It also includes an alarm bell with automatic reset push button and push to test light function. In addition the PLC features a two line word display for fault and status reporting. It will display cycle times, run time by fuel, display a list of last 25 failure and cumulative total of each individual failure event. Additional custom program design features are available to meet your annunciation specifications. The expanded features will reduce trouble shooting time and guesswork by displaying the historical events.

System Overview:

The Director SCS touch screen system combined with the Siemens LMV5.. linkageless burner control provides the best technology solution with a solidly proven approach to boiler management and interface to operators and higher level systems.

 The Director SCS touch screen interface is a passive/interactive device. No safety or burner sequencing is performed by the Director SCS. Its purpose is to gather information, store it and display it in a very meaningful intuitive way or to transmit it to a higher level BMS via optional Modbus, BACnet/IP, BACnet/MS, Metasys N2 or Lon. In Lead-Lag systems the Director SCS sequences the boilers via initiate commands only. If the communication to the LMV’s is interrupted the boiler will control to a failover set point within the Siemens LMV5.

Unlike systems based on PLC’s to perform very critical air/fuel ratio control along with sequence logic and stand alone burner flame safety with tacked on O2 trim and VFD’s. The Siemens LMV5.. is specifically designed and approved world wide to perform all of the burner functions in the safest manner possible. The LMV5.. employs two microprocessors that offer a very high level of safety and reliability for monitoring the software, the program, and the control of sequences.

Siemens LMV5:

The solid base of the system is the Siemens LMV5 linkageless burner control. Major functions of the LMV5 include:

  • All burner sequencing functions
  • Leak test on startup and shutdown of gas safety valves
  • Completely configurable curves for fuels and air supplies and FGR, at all light off and running conditions
  • Complete integration of the VSD into the burner safety logic sequences
  • Complete integration on the O2 trim system into the burner safety logic sequences
  • PID modulating control algorithm
  • Thermal shock protection on startup

Master Lead/Lag Director SCS:

The preferred interface to the Siemens LMV5 is the Master Lead/Lag Director SCS touch screen control. The 12” or 15” color touch screen provides a very easy to understand and intuitive way to operate and monitor all boiler functions. The Director SCS provides:

User Configurable Threshold Alarms:

All Director SCSs have user configurable threshold alarms. Values can be set to warn of impending problems before the problem can cause a complete shutdown of the boiler. User configurable alarms include; Flame Signal, Flue Gas Temperature, High and Low O2 Level, Feed Water Rate of Change, High and Low PV. Note: Some alarms require specific hardware options and may not be available on all system configurations.

Optional user configurable and scalable additional analog inputs:

With the optional analog input cards the Director SCS can display a variety of process values such as steam flow, gas flow, oil flow, feed water flow, TDS and economizer parameters.

Interface to BMS & MPS:

The Director SCS is capable of interfacing with higher level Building Management Systems and Manufacturing Process Systems via optional Modbus, BACnet/IP, BACnet/MS, Metasys N2, LON.

Intranet and Internet Monitoring:

The Director SCS can be viewed on Internet Explorer over an Intranet network internal to a building or over the Internet around the world. To use the Internet feature a router address option is available on the Director SCS. Router and firewall settings will be required to allow Internet access.

Printing:

All Director SCSs have the capability to print screens, trend charts and alarm listings to a variety of printers over a network or from the USB port on the Director SCS touch screen.

 

IP Addressing:

 

The IP address of the Director SCS can be set manual or can be assigned by a DHCP server. The router IP address can also be set to allow access to the Director SCS over a networked DSL router.
